The ever-versatile Rino series has been given a face-lift and packed with more features than ever before with the introduction of the Rino 530HCx. Garmin has incorporated into the Rino 530HCx an even more powerful transmitter producing 5 watts of power for the 8 GMRS channels. This will give you a range of up to 12 miles on (GMRS) channels as well as a 2-mile range when using FRS channels. (GMRS channels require a FCC license in the US.)
Garmin has kept the Peer-to-Peer function on the Rino 530HCx system like they had on their previous Rino systems. Your position will appear on any other Rino user’s display that you are communicating with and vice versa. Powering the Rino 530HCx is a rechargeable internal lithium ion battery, providing up to 14 hours of usage.
Garmin has included an electronic compass, barometric altimeter, NOAA weather receiver as well as external temperature reporting. Giving you up-to-date knowledge of your surrounding conditions and weather. Garmin has gone a step further with the new Rino 530HCx by adding an auto-routing feature. This will allow you to receive turn-by-turn text displayed directions to an address with the optional Mapsource City Select North America. The Rino 530HCx will even recalculate your route if you get off the beaten path.
The Rino 530HCx comes with a built-in basemap of North and South American consisting of major interstates, principle highways as well as city locations. With optional Mapsource products, you can add more detail to the available 56mb of memory on the Rino 530HCx, which can be transferred with the provided Mini USB cable for high-speed data transfer. Whether your application is Marine, Outdoors or even Automotive, Garmin has a Mapsource product that can be added to the Rino 530HCx.
